Third density

The density of self-consciousness and the home of the Choice — a uniquely short period whose whole purpose is to establish polarity.

What Ra means

Third density is where second-density beings arrive once they gain self-awareness and the consciousness of spirit (). Its defining feature is the veil of forgetting: this is the only plane of forgetting, and the forgetting exists so that the mechanisms of confusion and free will can operate on a newly individuated consciousness (). The entity begins effectively in darkness, with no memory of its origin or purpose, and must find its way through catalyst alone.

The intensity of its life experiences makes third density remarkably efficient: its catalyst, Ra says, polarizes an entity far more efficiently than the higher and more harmonious densities can (). This is why it is so brief compared with the others: its only job is to lay the foundation for the Choice. Above this density the architecture of the Logos remains recognizable, but without the veils that are so integral a part of the process of making the choice (). After three major cycles totaling roughly 75,000 years, harvest arrives whether enough entities are ready or not.

Wanderers from higher densities sometimes choose to incarnate here precisely to exploit this efficiency, hazarding the danger of the forgetting in order to accelerate their own polarization or to serve those around them ().

Third density as the first density of spirit, and the transition from second density:

The second density strives towards the third density, which is the density of self-consciousness, or self-awareness. The striving takes place through the higher second-density forms who are invested by third-density beings with an identity to the extent that they become self-aware mind/body complexes, thus becoming mind/body/spirit complexes and entering third density, the first density of consciousness of spirit.

The density of forgetting, and why the forgetting is necessary:

The incarnation pattern of the beginning third-density mind/body/spirit complex begins in darkness, for you may think, or consider, of your density as one of, as you may say, a sleep and a forgetting. This is the only plane of forgetting. It is necessary for the third-density entity to forget so that the mechanisms of confusion, or free will, may operate upon the newly individuated consciousness complex.

Why wanderers risk incarnating here despite the veil — the sharpness of catalyst as accelerant:

The wanderer has the potential of greatly accelerating the density whence it comes in its progress in evolution. This is due to the intensive life experiences and opportunities of the third density. Thusly the positively oriented wanderer chooses to hazard the danger of the forgetting in order to be of service to others by radiating love of others. If the forgetting is penetrated the amount of catalyst in third density will polarize the wanderer with much greater efficiency than shall be expected in the higher and more harmonious densities.

Above third density the architecture of the Logos persists, but without the veils that make the Choice possible:
