Density

A level of consciousness or vibration, analogous to an octave in music; the great octave holds seven densities, each with seven sub-densities, infinitely.

What Ra means

Density is Ra's word for a step on the ladder of being, and the governing image is musical: after the seven notes of a scale the eighth begins a new octave, and the great octave of existence holds seven densities, each in turn holding seven sub-densities, and so on without end (). Each density takes the character of one of the seven rays — red the foundation of the first, orange the movement of the second, yellow the self-awareness of the third — with the next ray always drawing the density forward in evolution (). First density is elemental awareness; second, growth and movement; third, self-awareness and the Choice; fourth, love and understanding; fifth, wisdom; sixth, the unity of love and wisdom, which is Ra's own; seventh, the gateway to the next octave.

The ladder is continuous and renewing. Lower densities strive toward the higher — second density reaches toward third as its forms become self-aware () — and the octave closes back on itself, the eighth density serving also as the first of the next (). Density therefore measures not place but vibration: how purely an entity expresses the one Creator.

The octave of densities, by the analogy of music:

The term density is a, what you would call, mathematical one. The closest analogy is that of music, whereby after seven notes on your western type of scale, if you will, the eighth note begins a new octave. Within your great octave of existence which we share with you, there are seven octaves or densities. Within each density there are seven sub-densities. Within each sub-density, seven sub-sub-densities, and so on infinitely.

Each density takes the character of its ray, and is drawn forward by the next:

Thus, in first density the red ray is the foundation for all that is to come. In second density the orange ray is that of movement and growth of the individual, this ray striving towards the yellow ray of self-conscious manifestations of a social nature as well as individual; third density being the equivalent, and so forth—each density being primarily its ray plus the attractions of the following ray pulling it forward in evolution and, to some extent, coloring, or shading, the chief color of that density.
