Ra's Metaphor System

Ra insists its real subject — the undivided One — cannot be stated, only approached. So the teaching runs almost entirely on analogy: a small set of recurring images, each borrowed from a familiar human domain and stretched to carry a cosmological load. Reading the contact, the same picture-families return session after session. Cataloguing them shows both how the cosmology is communicated and, quietly, what it is made of.

Music & the octave

The backbone metaphor. Asked to define density, Ra reaches first for the scale: densities are notes, and the eighth note that opens a new octave is the eighth density that begins the next creation. The figure is fractal — sub-densities nest within each density, and sub-sub-densities within those, continuing without end () — and it lets Ra speak of harmonics and vibration without further apparatus. The Creator's pulse is heard the same way: intelligent infinity moves with the rhythm of a giant heart ().

The closest analogy is that of music, whereby after seven notes on your western type of scale, if you will, the eighth note begins a new octave. Within your great octave of existence which we share with you, there are seven octaves or densities.

Light & the prism

Unity's signature image. Because the One cannot be shown, Ra points to white light split by a prism: many colors, all still sunlight. It does double duty — it pictures unity-in- multiplicity () and it grounds the entire energy-center system, where each chakra is a ray and a polarized entity's aura is read as a portion of that rainbow ().

You have seen the prism which shows all colors stemming from the sunlight. This is a simplistic example of unity.

The dance

Existence as motion freely chosen. The mind/body/spirit complex is something encountered on a dance through its distortions (); elsewhere the self in timelessness is seen in its eternal present-moment dance (). The image keeps the cosmos playful and voluntary rather than mechanical — distortion is a step, not a fall.

Physics of the spirit

Ra borrows Newtonian vocabulary and bends it metaphysical. Fourth density carries a greater spiritual gravity, causing a denser illusion (). The south, or negative, pole attracts: it pulls unto itself those things magnetized to it, and so incarnational experience streams in through it (). And the wise negative entity turns positive on observing its own spiritual entropy (). Polarity becomes literally a charge, evolution a field. The aptness is rhetorical: physics terms feel rigorous, so the spiritual claims inherit an air of law.

The south, or negative, pole is one which attracts. It pulls unto itself those things magnetized to it.

Geometry & architecture

The Logos is described as having an architecture that persists across densities (), and the pyramid is its worked example: a shape that focuses the instreamings of energy for use by entities (). Tellingly, Ra explains the geometry by collapsing it into the next family — if light in the metaphysical sense is water, the pyramid shape is a funnel, and the concept becomes self-evident ().

Water & flow

Energy is fluid; the spiritual problem is plumbing. Healing must funnel the instreamings through the spiritual complex without distortion, because parts of the mind block energies flowing to the body (), and catalyst can open a complete blockage in any energy-color entirely (). The vocabulary of instreaming, current, blockage, and funnel runs through the whole healing and energy-center teaching.

The healing, if it is to be effectuated, must be a funneling without significant distortion of the instreamings through the spiritual complex into the tree of mind. There are parts of this mind which block energies flowing to the body complex.

Game & choice

Third density is a choice (), and Ra's longest single metaphor frames a lifetime as a poker game. Between incarnations all hands lie face-up, so the play is riskless and yields no polarity; incarnate, you forget your cards and your only indication of other-selves' cards is to look into the eyes. The game can only be won by those who lose their cards in the melting influence of love (). Stakes, forgetting, and reading faces make the wager of polarity vivid.

Let us re-examine this metaphor and multiply it into the longest poker game you can imagine: a lifetime. The cards are love, dislike, limitation, unhappiness, pleasure, etc. They are dealt, and re-dealt, and re-dealt continuously. You may, during this incarnation begin—and we stress begin—to know your own cards. You may begin to find the love within you. You may begin to balance your pleasure, your limitations, etc. However, your only indication of other-selves’ cards is to look into the eyes.

You cannot remember your hand, their hands, perhaps even the rules of this game. This game can only be won by those who lose their cards in the melting influence of love; can only be won by those who lay their pleasures, their limitations, their all upon the table face up and say inwardly: “All, all of you players, each other-self, whatever your hand, I love you.”

This is the game: to know, to accept, to forgive, to balance, and to open the self in love.

Agriculture

The corpus's master noun, harvest, is agricultural, and the surrounding imagery follows. The Confederation is the gardener who, knowing the season, waits for spring; when no harvest sprouts, the gardener must tend the garden actively (). The Orion group found fertile soil for the seeds of negativity (). Souls ripen, seasons turn, crops are gathered or lost.

You may see our role in the first major cycle as that of the gardener who, knowing the season, is content to wait for the spring. When the springtime does not occur, the seeds do not sprout; then it is that the gardener must work in the garden.

Family & the Creator

The most intimate family. Creation is a course in the Creator knowing Itself, each incarnation ending in a review (). Humanity stands as the parents of a planet in the womb — a world being born () — and the ideal of teaching is open-hearted parental beingness and total acceptance of the child (). Cosmos and nursery share one grammar: love that lets the other become itself.

Each incarnation is intended to be a course in the Creator knowing Itself.

A review or, shall we say, to continue the metaphor, each test is an integral portion of the process of the Creator knowing Itself. Each incarnation will end with such a test.

What the imagery reveals

Laid side by side, the sources are strikingly ordinary and Western: a piano scale, a glass prism, Newton's gravity and poles, a funnel of water, a farmer's calendar, a hand of poker, a parent and child. Almost nothing is exotic. The teaching reaches for whatever lets an abstraction feel inevitable — music for order, physics for law, agriculture for time and consequence, family for love. Two tendencies stand out. First, the images interlock: light becomes water becomes the pyramid's funnel, so a reader who accepts one is gently carried into the next. Second, the borrowed precision of octave, gravity, entropy, and pole lends the cosmology a scientific timbre it does not earn by measurement — Ra itself notes its spiritual gravity is unmeasurable (). None of this makes the teaching false; it makes it constructed, in the honest sense that any wordless truth must be — built from the only ladders a human listener already owns.
