The veil (veil of forgetting)
The deliberate separation of the conscious mind from its own deep mind, body awareness, and Higher Self, introduced in third density by the Logos to make polarization and harvest possible.
What Ra means
The veiling is a space/time phenomenon — the conditions in time/space are unchanged before and after it — but it transformed the character of experience utterly (). Ra describes its scope as enormous: before the veil, all facets of the Creator were consciously known; after it, almost none remained to the conscious mind (). What was lost was the obvious perception of unity; what the obscurity made possible — free will, and the polarization the old, unveiled arrangement could not produce — is the veil's whole purpose ().
What the veil made possible was polarity, and through polarity, harvest. Before the veiling, entities moving through third density were more like a traveler walking up stairs in good light — each step visible, the threshold between densities clearly felt, and will essentially unneeded. The faculty of faith or will needs to be understood, nourished, and developed in order to cross the boundary into fourth density; those who did not do this homework, however amiable, did not cross (). The veil created exactly the conditions in which will and faith become the tools of growth, because the seeker can no longer simply see that all is one.
Beyond polarization, the veil activated several faculties that had been dormant. Far-seeing, dreaming, knowledge of the body, and most significantly the pure desire called will were newly energized by the very obscurity the veil imposed (). The path back toward unity — the piercing of the veil — begins with green-ray activation, the all-compassionate love that demands no return, and proceeds through the higher energy centers until the adept can dismantle the veil to a greater or lesser extent for itself and others (). This is also why wanderers accept the risk of the forgetting: if they can penetrate it, the catalyst of third density will polarize them far more efficiently than the harmonious higher densities can ().

The veil's scope — what was known before it, what disappeared after:
The primary veiling was of such significance that it may be seen to be analogous to the mantling of the earth over all the jewels within the earth’s crust; whereas previously all facets of the Creator were consciously known. After the veiling, almost no facets of the Creator were known to the mind. Almost all was buried beneath the veil.
If one were to attempt to list those functions of mind most significant in that they might be of aid in polarization, one would need to begin with the faculty of visioning, envisioning, or far-seeing. Without the veil the mind was not caught in your illusory time. With the veil, space/time is the only obvious possibility for experience.
Also upon the list of significant veiled functions of the mind would be that of dreaming. The so-called dreaming contains a great deal which, if made available to the conscious mind and used, shall aid it in polarization to a great extent.
The third function of the mind which is significant and which has been veiled is that of the knowing of the body. The knowledge of and control over the body, having been lost to a great extent in the veiling process, is thusly lost from the experience of the seeker. Its knowledge before the veiling is of small use. Its knowledge after the veiling, and in the face of what is now a dense illusion of separation of body complex from mind complex, is quite significant.
Perhaps the most important and significant function that occurred due to the veiling of the mind from itself is not in itself a function of mind but rather is a product of the potential created by this veiling. This is the faculty of will or pure desire.
Space/time unchanged, character of experience transformed; sexual energy as one example:
Firstly, let us establish that both before and after the veil the same conditions existed in time/space; that is, the veiling process is a space/time phenomenon.
Secondly, the character of experience was altered drastically by the veiling process. In some cases, such as the dreaming and the contact with the higher self, the experience was quantitatively different due to the fact that the veiling is a primary cause of the value of dreams and is also the single door against which the higher self must stand awaiting entry.
Before veiling, dreams were not for the purpose of using the so-called unconscious to further utilize catalyst but were used to learn/teach from teach/learners within the inner planes, as well as those of outer origin of higher density.
As you deal with each subject of which you spoke you may observe, during the veiling process, not a quantitative change in the experience but a qualitative one.
Faith and will as the necessary tools the veil creates demand for — what the pre-veil Logoi faced:
The faculty of faith or will needs to be understood, nourished, and developed in order to have an entity which seeks past the boundary of third density. Those entities which do not do their homework, be they ever so amiable, shall not cross. It was this situation which faced the Logoi prior to the veiling process being introduced into the experiential continuum of third density.
Piercing the veil — beginning in green ray, opening upward to the adept:
The penetration of the veil may be seen to begin to have its roots in the gestation of green-ray activity, that all-compassionate love which demands no return. If this path is followed the higher energy centers shall be activated and crystallized until the adept is born. Within the adept is the potential for dismantling the veil to a greater or lesser extent that all may be seen again as one. The other-self is primary catalyst in this particular path to the piercing of the veil, if you would call it that.
