Polarity & the Choice

Third density exists to make one choice — service to others or service to self — the engine of all acceleration that follows.

In plain language

For Ra, the whole of third density is built around a single question: will you live for others, or for yourself? Ra calls this the Choice, and the two directions it opens are the two polarities — positive (service to others) and negative (service to self). Both are genuine paths. Both lead, eventually, back to the Creator. Yet they are not mirror images: they differ in what they ask of the seeker, in how they regard the free will of others, and in their final destination — because in sixth density the two must merge, and only the positive path can complete the octave without first abandoning its orientation ().

The Choice is, Ra says, the work of a moment — yet the polarity it produces is the fuel of all later evolution. That is why third density, brief as it is, has been called the axis upon which the creation turns ().

Why polarity exists

Ra locates the purpose of polarity in work. The purpose of polarity is to develop the potential to do work, and that work is done far more efficiently and with greater purity, intensity, and variety by the voluntary searching of polarized mind/body/spirit complexes (). The harvest of higher densities depends on what was built here: polarity is the engine of the octave's refinement.

This is why the Choice is not merely a moral decision but a structural one. Earlier versions of this creation lacked a robust mechanism for polarization, and entities cycled through third density many times without making real progress (). The veil of forgetting — the curtain between conscious and unconscious mind — was introduced in part to make the potential for polarization more available. Without the forgetting, the stakes of choosing are lower; with it, the commitment to one direction or another carries genuine weight.

The positive path

The core of service to others is described in terms of self-offering without formula: a constant attempt to share the love one knows inwardly, opening to the other-self without hesitation and radiating what is essential in one's own nature (). Ra is emphatic that no universal method exists — the best way of service is unique to each entity and must be discovered through self-knowledge. The positive path does not pull other entities toward it by force; it recognizes the free will of all others as something to be honored, not overridden ().

The negative path

The service-to-self path is not mere selfishness in the ordinary sense but a deliberate program of separation and control. The negative entity forms hierarchies, claims power over others, and offers that power downward — a structure of control extending from an elite to disciples and outward (, by contrast). What distinguishes it structurally is that it does not recognize the free will of other-selves as a limit on its own action. A community approaching pure negativity thus exerts a constant gravitational pull on all those around it; those who will not be absorbed find their own freedom of movement curtailed ().

The asymmetric thresholds

The thresholds for harvest in either direction are not symmetric. To be harvested positive, an entity requires roughly fifty-one percent dedication to the welfare of others. To be harvested negative, the dedication to self must approach ninety-five percent — a far more exacting standard. Between these two poles lies what Ra calls the sinkhole of indifference — and reaching either threshold, Ra says, is equally difficult ().

The paths converge

Through fourth and fifth densities the positive and negative paths run separately, each deepening its characteristic lessons of love and wisdom by its own means (). But sixth density — the density of unity — requires something neither path can indefinitely defer: the two must finally take each other in. For the positive entity this is a natural extension; for the negative, it requires the eventual abandonment of the negative orientation. Ra's counsel to those on either path is to claim and refine their polarity fully, and to allow those of opposite polarity to do the same, in view of the unification that awaits ().

To attain fifty-one percent dedication to the welfare of other-selves is as difficult as attaining a grade of five percent dedication to other-selves. The, shall we say, sinkhole of indifference is between those two.

How the paths resolve at sixth density:

The fourth and fifth densities are quite independent, the positive polarity functioning with no need of negative and vice-versa.

It is to be noted that in attempting to sway third-density mind/body/spirit complexes in choosing polarity there evolves a good bit of interaction between the two polarities.

In sixth density, the density of unity, the positive and negative paths must needs take in each other, for all now must be seen as love/light and light/love. This is not difficult for the positive polarity which sends love and light to all other-selves. It is difficult enough for service-to-self polarized entities that, at some point, the negative polarity is abandoned.

Third density exists for one purpose: to force a decision. Ra calls that decision the Choice — service to others (positive polarity) or service to self (negative polarity) — and names it the axis upon which the creation turns (, ). The distinction crystallizes at the level of catalyst: experience can be loved and accepted, or it can be controlled (). Both paths develop real power; polarity exists precisely because it enables far more efficient evolution than undifferentiated seeking (). Ra gives the positive path no free pass: genuine service is unique to each entity with no generalized formula, and the threshold of 51% commitment to others is as hard to reach as the negative threshold of 95% (, , ). The mechanics of each path differ sharply — the negative polarizes by subjugation while the positive honors free will even when that weakens its own pull (, ) — a contrast Ra compresses into an aphorism: the positive polarity sees love in all things; the negative polarity is clever (). The Law of One blinks at neither; both paths reach the Creator, though the logic of separation eventually disintegrates the negative social complex (). In sixth density the paths must converge, which is straightforward for the positive and demanding enough for the negative that it is ultimately abandoned (). The prelude to choice must encompass the laying of the foundation, the establishment of the illusion and the viability of that which can be made spiritually viable. The remainder of the densities is continuous refining of the choice. This also is greatly lengthened, as you would use the term.

The catalyst, and all catalyst, is designed to offer experience. This experience in your density may be loved and accepted, or it may be controlled. These are the two paths. When neither path is chosen, the catalyst fails in its design, and the entity proceeds until catalyst strikes it which causes it to form a bias towards acceptance and love or separation and control.

The best way of service to others is the constant attempt to seek to share the love of the Creator as it is known to the inner self. This involves self-knowledge and the ability to open the self to the other-self without hesitation. This involves, shall we say, radiating that which is the essence, or the heart, of the mind/body/spirit complex.

Speaking to the intention of your question, the best way for each seeker in third density to be of service to others is unique to that mind/body/spirit complex. This means that the mind/body/spirit complex must then seek within itself the intelligence of its own discernment as to the way it may best serve other-selves. This will be different for each. There is no best. There is no generalization. Nothing is known.

The entity who wishes to pursue the path of service to self must attain a grade of five—that is five percent service to others, ninety-five percent service to self. It must approach totality. The negative path is quite difficult to attain harvestability upon and requires great dedication.

— How the negative path polarizes

The negative polarization is greatly aided by the subjugation or enslavement of other-selves. The potential between two negatively polarized entities is such that the entity which enslaves the other or bids the other gains in negative polarity.

The entity so bidden or enslaved, in serving an other-self, will necessarily lose negative polarity, although it will gain in desire for further negative polarization. This desire will then tend to create opportunities to regain negative polarity.

— Love and cleverness

The positive polarity sees love in all things. The negative polarity is clever.

— The gravity well of negativity

Positivity has a much weaker effect due to the strong element of recognition of free will in any positivity approaching purity. Thus, although the negatively oriented entity may find it difficult to polarize negatively in the midst of such resounding harmony, it will not find it impossible.

Upon the other hand, the negative polarization is one which does not accept the concept of the free will of other-selves. Thusly in a social complex whose negativity approaches purity the pull upon other-selves is constant. A positively oriented entity in such a situation would desire for other-selves to have their free will and, thusly, would find itself removed from its ability to exercise its own free will, for the free will of negatively oriented entities is bent upon conquest.

— Both paths reach the Creator

Their power is the same as ours. The Law of One blinks neither at the light or the darkness but is available for service to others and service to self. However, service to others results in service to self, thus preserving and further harmonizing the distortions of those entities seeking intelligent infinity through these disciplines.

Those seeking intelligent infinity through the use of service to self create the same amount of power but, as we said, have constant difficulty because of the concept of separation which is implicit in the manifestations of the service to self which involve power over others. This weakens and eventually disintegrates the energy collected by such mind/body/spirit complexes who call the Orion group and the social memory complexes which comprise the Orion group.

It should be noted, carefully pondered, and accepted, that the Law of One is available to any social memory complex which has decided to strive together for any seeking of purpose, be it service to others or service to self. The laws, which are the primal distortions of the Law of One, then are placed into operation, and the illusion of space/time is used as a medium for the development of the results of those choices freely made.

Thus all entities learn, no matter what they seek. All learn the same, some rapidly, some slowly.

Glory in the strength of your polarization, and allow others of opposite polarity to similarly do so, seeing the great humor of this polarity and its complications in view of the unification in sixth density of these two paths.
