Light (Third Distortion)

The Third Distortion of the Law of One: the manifesting principle that arises when Love impresses pattern upon potential, producing the photon and all form.

What Ra means

Light is the third shape the One takes. After free will finds focus as Love, Love generates Light — the first moment in which the formless becomes something structured and countable (). Light is the substance of the physical creation, the photon underlying all matter, and the medium through which a Logos builds its densities. Ra pairs it constantly with Love because the two are inseparable creative partners, not independent forces.

Ra distinguishes two compound terms built from this pairing. Love/light is the enabler — the power streaming into a creation. Light/love is what results when light has been impressed with love: the manifested, shaped substance (). The sun's white light begins in metaphysical darkness, then transfigures that chaos, organizing it into the reflective, radiant structure that becomes the dimensions (). Every density, from first through seventh, is a different intensity of this same light/love; entities grow by being able to tolerate and enjoy increasingly glaring light.

Light is also the ladder of harvest. At the end of a cycle, the spirit complex of a harvested entity moves along the line of light, stopping where the light becomes too intense — and that stopping point determines the density of the next incarnation (). The gradations of light thus form not only the architecture of the creation but the precise measure of an entity's consciousness.

The First Distortion, Free Will, finds focus. This is the Second Distortion known to you as Logos, the Creative Principle, or Love. This intelligent energy thus creates a distortion known as Light.

Ra distinguishes the directional pairing of love/light and light/love:

There is the same difference between love/light and light/love as there is between teach/learning and learn/teaching. Love/light is the enabler, the power, the energy giver. Light/love is the manifestation which occurs when Light has been impressed with Love.

Ra describes how white light emanating from a sub-Logos organizes the creation:

The white light which emanates and forms the articulated sub-Logos has its beginning in what may be metaphysically seen as darkness. The light comes into that darkness and transfigures it, causing the chaos to organize and become reflective or radiant. Thus the dimensions come into being.
