Communication of metaphysical origin between densities — Confederation (positive), Orion (negative), or mixed, depending on the tuning and intent of those involved.
What Ra means
Contact is the response to a calling and is governed at every stage by free will. A positive contact answers a call: Ra opens the first session by saying it had watched the group, had been called to it, and sends a narrow-band vibration requiring an instrument precisely tuned (). That narrow band demands careful preparation and protection from the support group; any lapse in it is an opening for interference from the opposite polarity.
Positive and negative contacts use the same channel but serve opposite ends. The Confederation disseminates the Law of One through thought and impression; the Orion group uses the same telepathic medium to propagate its philosophy of control and service to self (). The difference lies in the nature and tuning of those who call, and in the intent and polarity of those who answer. A Confederation contact comes through mutual offering — both caller and contact filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve — not through command or demand ().
Ra is also candid that no contact is guaranteed to be pure. When asked about a specific case, Ra declined to confirm it as a Confederation contact of any purity, noting there was some positive material present, while observing that all communication is of the One Infinite Creator in its infinite distortions (). The quality of contact is a matter of tuning, not of the contact's claimed identity.

The first session: Ra describes what was required to reach this instrument:
I have not spoken through this instrument before. We had to wait until she was precisely tuned, as we send a narrow-band vibration. We greet you in the love and in the light of our Infinite Creator.
We have watched your group. We have been called to your group, for you have a need for the diversity of experiences in channeling which go with a more intensive, or as you might call it, advanced approach to the system of studying the patterns of the illusions of your body, your mind, and your spirit, which you call seeking the truth. We hope to offer you a somewhat different slant upon the information which is always and ever the same.
The Confederation of Planets in the Service of the Infinite Creator has only one important statement. That statement, my friends, as you know, is: “All things, all of life, all of the creation is part of One Original Thought.”
We will exercise each channel if we are able to. The reception of our beam is a somewhat more advanced feat than some of the more broad vibration channels opened by other members for more introductory and intermediate work.
How a Confederation contact differs from the negative bidding mechanism:
This contact may be characterized as one typical of the Brothers and Sisters of Sorrow wherein those receiving the contact have attempted to prepare for such contact by sacrificing extraneous, self-oriented distortions in order to be of service.
The Ra social memory complex offers itself also as a function of its desire to serve. Both the caller and the contact are filled with gratitude at the opportunity of serving others.
We may note that this in no way presupposes that either the callers or those of our group in any way approach a perfection, or purity, such as was described in the bidding process. The calling group may have many distortions and be working with much catalyst, as may those of Ra. The overriding desire to serve others, bonded with the unique harmonics of this group’s vibratory complexes, gives us the opportunity to serve as one channel for the One Infinite Creator.
Ra's measured response when asked to confirm a specific contact:
It is not our practice to judge the value of a contact of metaphysical origin. We cannot confirm the contact referred to by the questioner as pure Confederation contact. However, we might suggest that there is some positive material within the recorded transcript of converse during this contact. As we have spoken previously to the various characteristics of so-called mixed contact, we shall not repeat but note that all communication is of the One Infinite Creator in its infinite distortions.
