Free will (First Distortion)

The First Distortion of the Law of One: the Creator's freedom to know Itself in infinite ways, from which all other distortions — including love and light — flow.

What Ra means

Free will is the first shape the undivided One takes. Ra describes it as the primal distortion from which the Second Distortion (Logos, or love) and the Third Distortion (light) unfold in sequence (). Because it comes first, it is the supreme law governing all other entities and all Confederation operations. To infringe another entity's free will — through enslavement, manipulation, or even unrequested assistance — is the basic transgression in Ra's framework.

The paramount quality of free will is stated directly: it is utterly paramount in the workings of the infinite creation (). This is why Ra and the Confederation cannot simply teach or correct without being called, and why the quarantine of Earth was set up not to stop the Orion group's attempts to interfere but only to balance them — the Orion group's free will remains intact, while third-density entities retain their own freedom to choose without being overwhelmed by manipulation they cannot recognize ().

The two polarities express exactly opposite orientations toward free will. The positively oriented path honors it so strongly that its own pull on other-selves is weakened — positive harmony is harder to maintain precisely because it holds back. The negatively oriented path, by contrast, does not accept the free will of other-selves at all; its will is bent toward conquest, and in a social complex of high negative purity, the pull on other-selves is constant and unrelenting (). Ra also notes that Logoi who chose to create without the application of free will produced a very different kind of evolution — slower to the midpoint, then rapid toward the eighth density, but lacking the variety and quality of experience that free will generates ().

In Ra's words

Free will as utterly paramount — and the mechanics of attraction:

The Law of Confusion, or Free Will, is utterly paramount in the workings of the infinite creation.

The quarantine as a balance that protects free will on both sides:

The balancing is from dimension to dimension. The attempts of the so-called Crusaders to interfere with free will are acceptable upon the dimension of their understanding. However, the mind/body/spirit complexes of this dimension you call third form a dimension of free will which is not able to, shall we say, recognize in full the distortions towards manipulation.

Thus, in order to balance the dimensional variances in vibration, a quarantine was set up; this being a balancing situation whereby the free will of the Orion group is not stopped but given a challenge. Meanwhile, the third-density group is not hindered from free choice.

How the two polarities differ in their relationship to the free will of other-selves:

This is incorrect. Positivity has a much weaker effect due to the strong element of recognition of free will in any positivity approaching purity. Thus, although the negatively oriented entity may find it difficult to polarize negatively in the midst of such resounding harmony, it will not find it impossible.

Upon the other hand, the negative polarization is one which does not accept the concept of the free will of other-selves. Thusly in a social complex whose negativity approaches purity the pull upon other-selves is constant. A positively oriented entity in such a situation would desire for other-selves to have their free will and, thusly, would find itself removed from its ability to exercise its own free will, for the free will of negatively oriented entities is bent upon conquest.
