Orange ray
Discipline of the personality
The inner work of knowing, accepting, and ultimately becoming the Creator — the threefold practice that clears the adept's path toward the indigo gateway.
What Ra means
Ra gives the heart of this discipline in three steps: know yourself, accept yourself, become the Creator (). The third step is the most demanding and the most paradoxical — the entity that has fully become the Creator is no longer a personality in the sense with which the adept began. It is transparent, entirely humble, and capable of fully knowing and accepting other selves (). As indigo-ray consciousness crystallizes through this process, more may be expressed from intelligent infinity, and more work may be done ().
In the context of magical work, the discipline of the personality is not preparatory window-dressing but the core requirement: it is what clears the path toward the great indigo gateway. The continuing practice involves the adept in knowing itself and accepting itself, thus clearing the path toward the great indigo gateway to the Creator (). At higher stages of density, Ra notes, the spirit complex becomes so experienced as a shuttle between planes that the physical vehicle's dissolution need not be built into its design as an external limit — the entity knows from within when each increment of learning is complete ().
In Ra's words
The threefold heart of the discipline and its culmination in transparency:
The heart of the discipline of the personality is threefold:
One, know yourself.
Two, accept yourself.
Three, become the Creator. The third step is that step which, when accomplished, renders one the most humble servant of all, transparent in personality and completely able to know and accept other-selves.
In relation to the pursuit of the magical working, the continuing discipline of the personality involves the adept in knowing itself, accepting itself, and thus clearing the path towards the great indigo gateway to the Creator. To become the Creator is to become all that there is. There is, then, no personality in the sense with which the adept begins its learn/teaching. As the consciousness of the indigo ray becomes more crystalline, more work may be done; more may be expressed from intelligent infinity.
The discipline at its highest stage — when the spirit complex no longer needs death enforced from without:
When the discipline of the personality has led the mind/body/spirit complex into the fifth, and especially the sixth, level of study, it is no longer necessary to build destruction of the physical vehicle into its design, for the spirit complex is so experienced as a shuttle that it is aware when the appropriate degree of intensity of learning and increment of lesson has been achieved.
Within third density, not to build into the physical vehicle its ending would be counterproductive to the mind/body/spirit complexes therein residing; for within the illusion it seems more lovely to be within the illusion than to drop the garment which has carried the mind/body/spirit complex and move on.
