# Unity *Canonical page: https://ra.contact/concepts/unity* *Last updated: 2026-06-25* *The recognition that in an Infinite Creator there is only One — many-ness is a finite concept, and separation is a distortion of the underlying identity.* ## What Ra means Unity is the bedrock of the whole teaching, and Ra approaches it with a near-mathematical argument: that which is infinite cannot be many, because many-ness is a finite concept. To have infinity at all, it must be identified as unity; otherwise the term has no referent (1.7.4-5). What follows from this is that the seeker is not a part of the creation but is every thing, every being, every emotion, every event — the whole of it (1.7.14-16). Unity is not a metaphor for closeness; it is a claim about identity. At the most abstract level, unity is what Ra means by intelligent infinity: there is unity, it is all that there is, and it has both a potential and kinetic aspect (27.5.3-5). The potential is intelligent infinity itself; the kinetic, once tapped by a distortion of free will, is what Ra calls intelligent energy. Everything in the creation flows from this one source. The first paradox to enter was finity — when the undivided One discerned the concept of manyness and invested itself in its exploration (13.12.3-9). That exploration is the whole of the creation. Within sixth density, Ra describes the present state of being as having become light, with no work of polarity remaining — only the balancing between compassion and wisdom that brings the entity ever closer to the unity with the One Creator that sixth-density beings seek with joy (64.6.7-9). Unity is not merely the starting point of the teaching; it is its destination. ## In Ra's words The logical argument: infinity requires unity as its definition: > Consider, if you will, that the universe is infinite.
