# Ray *Canonical page: https://ra.contact/concepts/ray* *Last updated: 2026-06-25* *Each of the seven colors corresponding to the seven energy centers — used both for the centers themselves and as a measure of an entity's dominant vibration.* ## What Ra means Ra uses the term ray interchangeably with energy center, color, and density in different contexts, but the core meaning is consistent: each ray names a level of development and the center through which that level is expressed. Red is the foundation of survival and life-force; orange the self in individual relation to others; yellow the self in relation to groups and the physical body; green the great turning point of universal love and the threshold of harvestability; blue the first outgoing ray of free communication; indigo the adept's gateway to intelligent infinity; violet the unchanging sum of the whole entity (15.12). The three primary rays — red, yellow, and blue — mark pivots in the structure of experience. Red is the basic strengthening foundation; yellow is the great stepping stone at which the mind/body complex potentiates to its fullest balance; blue is the first ray of radiation, the first true spiritual ray where all transfers are of an integrated mind/body/spirit nature (39.10). Green stands between as the springboard, the resource for spiritual work, the center from which the higher rays become accessible. In the system of densities, each density is itself a true-color ray. At harvest the violet ray carries the signature of polarity: the violet ray of the fourth-density positive candidate is tinged with the distinct green-blue-indigo triad, while that of the negative carries red, orange, and yellow, muddied rather than distinct (33.19). The rays that show in an entity's aura describe not just their current work but the signature of their beingness across all experiences. ## In Ra's words The pivotal role of each primary ray and the function of green as the spiritual springboard: > The basic pivotal points of each level of development—that is, each density beyond second—may be seen to be as follows: > > Firstly, the basic energy of so-called red ray. This ray may be understood to be the basic strengthening ray for each density. It shall never be condescended to as less important or productive of spiritual evolution, for it is the foundation ray. > > The next foundation ray is yellow. This is the great stepping stone ray. At this ray the mind/body potentiates to its fullest balance. The strong red/orange/yellow triad springboards the entity into the center ray of green. This is the first true spiritual ray in that all transfers are of an integrated mind/body/spirit nature.
