When free will — the First Distortion — finds focus, it becomes the Second Distortion: Love, the Creative Principle. With that primal distortion of free will, each galaxy develops its own Logos, which has complete free will in determining the paths of intelligent energy and the lessons of each density within its scope (19.12.4-5). The Logos is therefore the designer of a creation's natural laws, its eight-density curriculum, and the overall conditions of its experiment — operating at the scale of a galaxy, or sometimes larger or smaller, since a single Logos may create a star system or billions of them (28.7.4-5). The Logos stands outside time. All that it learns through an octave of experience becomes its very nature; the original Logos's experience was, in space/time, small, but its nature is continuously enriched by what its creation gathers (78.22.2-5). Its deepest purpose is to make the Creator's self-knowledge ever more articulate: each Logos designs its archetypal mind so that every facet of the Creator is vivid and shining (90.16.2-3). The Logos is thus the bridge between the formless potential of intelligent infinity and a fully structured, law-bound creation. The sun is Ra's primary physical symbol for the Logos. In relation to intelligent infinity, the sun body is part of that infinity, equally with all other portions; in relation to intelligent energy, it is the offspring of the Logos and the parent of many sub-Logoi (41.4.4-6). Within the limits set by its parent Logos, each sub-Logos has free will to differentiate the experiences of its own system — so the hierarchy is not rigidly deterministic but a nested structure of creative freedoms, each smaller intelligence elaborating on what the larger has designed. ## In Ra's words Ra describes the origin and scope of a galactic Logos: > With the primal distortion of free will, each galaxy developed its own Logos.
