# Crystals *Canonical page: https://ra.contact/concepts/crystals* *Last updated: 2026-06-25* *Regularized "frozen light" used as a focusing tool in healing and energy work — effective only in proportion to the crystallization (balance and purity) of the being who wields it.* ## What Ra means The effectiveness of a crystal depends less on the stone than on the being using it. Ra grounds crystal healing in the hierarchical structure of the physical body: different crystals work at the spirit-body boundary, at the spirit-to-mind interface, and at the mind-body interface — each level requiring a purified channel to charge the crystal properly (2.3). Without the relative crystallization of the healer — their balance, polarity, and inner regularity — the crystal will not be properly charged at all (2.3). The healer's process begins with balancing and polarizing the self, connecting inner light with the upward-spiraling inpourings of universal light. Green-ray healing is then channeled through the being and into the crystal, which Ra describes as "frozen light" — a structure of crystalline regularity that resounds with charged light and radiates healing in the specific vibrations needed by the one to be healed (57.6). The crystal thus acts as an analog of the violet-ray complex — a relatively undistorted form through which intelligent infinity may step down into intelligent energy, becoming usable in the physical (29.30). Light passing through must span the full spectrum of the one to be healed, which sets a lower limit on the crystal's size: a faceted crystal must be large enough that its light covers the complete width of that spectrum (57.9). Ra also cautions that working with a powerful crystal while unable to perceive the magnetic flux of the subtle bodies is like recommending that a beginner with saw and nail create the Vatican (58.3). The energy centers themselves have a distinctive crystalline structure in the more developed entity — each regular yet individual, as no two snowflakes are alike, from the spoked wheel of red to the thousand-petaled violet (51.8). ## In Ra's words The principle of crystal healing and the requirement of a crystallized healer: > The principle of crystal healing is based upon an understanding of the hierarchical nature of the structure of the illusion which is the physical body, as you would call it. There are crystals which work upon the energies coming into the spiritual body; there are crystals which work upon the distortions from spirit to mind; there are crystals which balance the distortions between the mind and the body. All of these crystal healings are charged through purified channels.
